I was bummed about Harry Potter moving from November (to friggin' JULY 2009) for about 5 seconds but these things happen. Then I refreshed my friends page to see THIS awesome bit o' news! SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT MOVES UP RELEASE DATE FOR TWILIGHT TO NOVEMBER 21, 2008
Los Angeles, CA August 15, 2008 — TWILIGHT, the first film in Summit Entertainment's thriller romance franchise, has moved up its North American release date to Friday, November 21, 2008. The film, which was previously planned to be released on December, 12, 2008, is taking advantage of an opening in the upcoming fall release calendar. The new release date for TWILIGHT allows the studio to both bring the film to the written-series' enormous fan base sooner, and to present the film in more theatres prior to the holiday movie-going season where traditionally screen time for any popular film is limited.
"When Warner Bros. decided to move HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE to the summer of 2009, we saw a unique opportunity to slot in our film which has been gaining tremendous awareness and momentum over the past several months," said Rob Friedman, Co-Chairman and CEO of Summit Entertainment. "We by no means are trying to fill the shoes of the incredible POTTER franchise for 2008, rather we are just looking to bring the fans of Stephenie Meyer's incredible book series the film as soon possible from a programming perspective." Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! This is GREAT news! :D (And, to be honest, I was always more excited about Twilight ANYWAY...) Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the Australian cinemas do the same thing! We were originally meant to get around Jan 5th or something (or possibly later) but I REALLY hope they follow suit and we get Twilight in November now as well! Yes, I've been pacing myself, but I couldn't save those last 4 chapters until Monday on the train so I finished Breaking Dawn just 30 seconds ago. :) Unpopular fandom opinion time! I LOVED IT. Don't harsh the buzz but I LOVED this book. Yes, it had its issues but so did EVERY book in the series (if you think otherwise, which series were you reading??). To be honest, I think Twilight will always remain my favourite book of the series, New Moon has my favourite scene/moments (the moments after Italy when they're finally together) but Breaking Dawn is probably second on my list. SO THERE. :D I just finished but there's so much to take in I just want to go re-read it. ETA: Spoilers in the comments. Tags: books, shippy: edward/bella, twilight

Saw Mamma Mia today and, despite the fact I'm NOT an ABBA fan, I thought it was fantastic! Really really enjoyable, fun, FUNNY (I couldn't stop laughing) and entertaining. I haven't been that thoroughly entertained by a movie in aaaages. Oh, and favourite number, far and away ahead of all the others, was "Dancing Queen". I won't say anymore but it was GREAT. :D Today starts a string of movie weekends - huzzah! Today Mamma Mia, next week is The Dark Knight (HELL FREAKIN' YEAH! I am SOOOO excited about this one!) and then the following week it's The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! YAY for excellent movie season!
